Tutorial Steps
Step 1
Welcome to this new TIA Connect tutorial.
Step 2
We will see how to establish a Multi-Instance connection using TIA Connect.
Step 3
Let's start by launching the TIA Connect API application.
Step 4
We will start this first instance in headless mode. To do so, we let the five-second timer run and the application will automatically launch the TIA Portal instance in headless mode (without the interface).
Step 5
The TIA Portal application is now open in no-UI mode.
Step 6
TIA Connect has been launched and attached to an instance of TIA Portal in Headless mode!
Step 7
Launching another instance in interactive mode!
Step 8
Press the 'o' key on the keyboard.
Step 9
The TIA Portal is open in normal mode with the interface.
Step 10
The TIA Connect application is successfully launched with the TIA Portal in interactive mode! We can observe that one instance is open on port 9000 and another instance on port 9001.
Step 11
Let's now open an instance of the TIA Portal through its native launcher.
Step 12
We have our new TIA Portal instance open and another one launched via T.I.A. Connect in interactive mode.
Step 13
Let's launch a new instance of TIA Portal Connect.
Step 14
T.I.A. Connect automatically detects an orphan instance of the TIA Portal and proposes to attach to this instance.
Step 15
Enter the instance number here, instance number 1, and validate your choice. TIA Connect will automatically attach to the already open TIA Portal instance.
Step 16
We are currently connected to the manually opened TIA Portal instance and T-IA Connect is linked to this instance on port 9002.
