Homepage Discovery

Welcome to the homepage of the graphical interface. When no project is open, a yellow banner appears, allowing you to open a project in TIA Portal.

Step 4

You can find a local file selection field, a button to launch the selected project, and a button to create a new project!

Step 5

Above the project opening banner, you'll find the T-IA Connect interface logo, a button to access the Dashboard, and a Resources menu with links to "Benchmark", "Knowledge Base", and "Doc". On the far right, there is a gear icon for settings, the language selector, and the logout link.

Step 6

An inset on the left side allows you to visualize the current connection status between TIA Connect and TIA Portal. It displays the API version, TIA Portal version, the Windows process ID, and the current UI mode (Interactive or Headless). Here you can see a preview of the open project. On the right, a console details all communication calls between the API and TIA Portal via TIA Openness.

General Settings Discovery

Here is an overview of the settings page. The first tab covers General settings, where you can adjust the language, default TIA Portal project folder, and enable Web UI auto-launch. You can also automatically minimize the console to the Windows tray. A Server section allows you to configure the communication port and heartbeat logs.

Step 8

To the right, the Security section provides your API key for secure communication between TIA Connect and TIA Portal. This security is active by default but can be disabled if needed.

Appearance Settings

An Appearance tab is available to change the global look of the TIA Connect interface. You will find several settings here to customize the Web UI according to your preferences.

Step 10

You will also find a button to reset to default settings.

Data & Cache Settings

Data & Cache settings. In this tab, you can configure autosave intervals for your changes. You can also generate a cache file containing the Siemens catalog, which is required for searching and adding new devices.

MCP Integration Settings

MCP Integration settings. This tab provides the configuration code for various AI providers, allowing them to interact with the 85 commands available in the T-IA Connect MCP server. Once configured, you can directly ask Claude Code or Gemini CLI to open a project or add a CPU to your project.

AI Assistant Settings

Web Co-Pilot Assistant settings. This tab allows you to enable the AI assistant integrated into the T-IA Connect Web UI. Once enabled, you can select an AI provider and model, and enter your API key to access AI features directly from the interface.

License Settings

License settings. This tab allows you to view the active license on your device. If you have a Lifetime license, you can revoke it from the current machine to transfer it to another computer if needed.

Step 15

Our tour of the Web UI is complete. In future tutorials, we will take a closer look at project management and the Co-Pilot assistant.
